چکیده
مقالۀحاضربه بررسی مقولۀ «نظارت زیستی» ونقش آن در تعیین گفتمان جغرافیای جهان امروز می‌پردازد. نویسنده با استفاده از رویکرد فرهنگی و بهره‌گیری از نظریات منتقدانی نظیر تیحاجآ جاناو میشل فوکو درپی پاسخ به این پرسش کلیدی است که چگونه مهاجرت به غرب به مسخ وجودی مهاجران و تبدیل آنها به شهروندانِ زیستیِ نامرئی درنظام اجتماعی حاکم منجر میشود؟ از این رو، میراثی از خسران (2006)، نوشتۀ کیرن دسای، مورد بحث قرار می‌گیرد تا با تمرکز بر موضوعاتی نظیر «اقدامات بیومتریکی»، «هوموساکر» و «شهروندی زیستی» چگونگی کارکرد ساختارهای نظارتی نوین را تبیین و تشریح کند. چنین استدلال میشود که مقولۀ سفر، علی‌رغم تداعی آن با فروپاشی دوانگاره‌های نژادی قومیتی، خلق جغرافیایی چندفرهنگیِ سیال و چالش کلان‌روایت‌های «هویت اصیل» و «ملیت»، خود به ابزاری در راستای کنترل اقلیت نژادی بدل شده که با اعمال نظارت‌های بیومتریک، دوانگارۀ «خود/ دیگری» و مرزبندی استعماری را بیش از پیش پررنگ می‌کند.
